


The repo has all the source code, that can be hundreds of individual files and folders, you’ll need to download it as a zip file, thus the install from zip step. So you add repo as a source to get the installation files. It is like that because kodi is open source, there is no central, top down control, it is this way because that is how all open source projects gets shared, and contributed by anyone.Ī repo is just like a public bulletin. I still find this whole kodi experience clunky as hell. But I am 50years old and I am a programmer. Trying to install kodi and Neptune rising on firetv, that alone is commendable. No one mentioned that but for a 72 year guy.
